Bio

My journey has taken me from growing up in an English-speaking yet multilingual home in Mumbai, India, to an international career as a project manager and translator with experience working for world-leading French multinational brands in high-end beauty, cosmetics, perfume, leather products (shoes and handbags), wine and spirits, fashion, culture, automobile and general industry.

I was head-hunted fresh out of university to assist the French naval company, DCNS, build submarines for the Indian Navy. Putting my language skills to use in this dynamic workspace opened up my world: I was granted a full French government scholarship to study at ITIRI, the premier translation, interpretation and foreign relations institute in Strasbourg, France.

My career as a translator has led me across the pharmaceutical, legal, technical and media sectors. I have worked for ARTE, the Franco-German television channel, where I subtitled award-winning documentaries and rubbed shoulders with globetrotting journalists. I have been a successful multilingual project manager at a prestigious translation agency in Paris, where I handled a demanding portfolio comprising the topmost French brands in a high-pressure environment.

Paris also brought out the artist in me. During my time there, I rediscovered my love for creative writing, performed on stage and had my work published in leading Paris-based literary journals. In 2017, I realised my moved to my home country, India, where I established myself as a freelance translator, writer and editor. As of 2022, I'm based out of Paris but divide my time between France and India.
