Late October, and still the sea is warm.

Still the sun shines above us, warming our backs.

Still I bathe in the sea, as you watch

standing on the shore, perfectly still.

2 years since the first swim, more lines on my face;

a body grown older but still

you look at me with that same still look

in your eyes. The same blood gushes through

our veins still, still alive, still together, still here, still.

Still the water flows off my skin, this body you’ve touched

but mine still; still in the water looking up at the sky

thinking how fast time flies and how easily

it stands still.
